Controlled Warm-up (Marathon Section A)

With the increased use of the Controlled Warm-up in place of a traditional Section A, British Carriagedriving have produced a guidance document PDF for anyone unfamiliar with this type of event. This is the format which will be used at the 2022 National Championships.

Try Driving at Sandringham

With the support of British Carriagedriving and Zilco Euorpe, the Bennington Team held for the first time “Try Driving” sessions in the main ring at Sandringham Horse Trials.

British Equestrian seeks views to help drive positive change in the equine community

World Singles Championships

Following selection events at the 2021 National Championships, Hopetoun, Cricklands and Sandringham, the selection and ratification panel have confirmed the team that will represent Britain in the FEI Single Horse World Championships at Le Pin au Haras in September. The team will consist of Harriet Bradford, Michael Hodgson and Lucy McGill and we wish them the best of luck.

Glorious weather greeted competitors at MC’s two-day event at Thoresby Park in Nottinghamshire on 14 & 15 May. Thoresby is a beautiful private estate open to members of the public, many of whom watched the competition in progress over both days.

New BC test for Tandems

A new dressage test for tandems has been introduced. It is driven in an 80x40m arena. The test sheet and diagrams are now available to download here. Pony tandems will not be asked to drive the new test in the early part of the season but it may adopted at the later events.  Please watch out for changes to schedules and check which test will be driven. >>

FEI Driving Guidelines 2022

The FEI have published an updated version of their guidelines on use of Tack, Equipment and Dress. The most relevant section for many drivers is the alteration to the wording for bits, which now states, “Serrated mouthpieces are permitted as long as they don’t damage the tongue and bars of the horse.” A download link has been added to the RULES PAGE.
