11 May 2022

Second in the Midlands Carriagedriving’s (MC) One-Day Event Series took place on Sunday 8 May at Poplars Farm, Anslow, Derbyshire. Although a small field, the competition was much enjoyed by those who took part. As a bonus, organiser Paul Hart had arranged excellent weather for both humans and equines.

Nicola Corby’s new coloured cob is showing improvement all the time and handled the full course with no problem this time round although Nicola did have to give best to Linda Wiggins and her more experienced pony in the Intermediate class.

In the Open Horse, Mark Riley and his Dutch horse were on their own with the horse showing some nice work in the dressage phase, with the potential for more to come. Mark also improved overall by completing cones and obstacles, the latter in the fastest time, without the ‘Senior Moments’ suffered previously!

Libby Castle’s little grey pony happily scuttled round and coped well with the water obstacle in the Pre-Novice class while Megan Wheeldon took Red for a pipe-opener in Open Pony.
