Members' Insurance Cover

Full Membership

For drivers who compete regularly in carriage driving. Enjoy all the benefits of BC membership, including:

Young Members & British Young Drivers (BYD):

Discounted membership for young drivers:

• 6–16 years: 75% off Full and International membership.

• 17–21 years: 50% off Full and International membership.

• 22–25 years: 25% off Full and International membership.

• BYD newcomers: First year of BC membership is free when attending the first BYD camp.

Personal Liability Insurance

All BC Members in the Full and International categories are automatically insured for personal liability in respect of their personal equestrian related activities on a 24/7 basis, provided that they are normally resident in the United Kingdom or Irish Republic and subject to the terms, conditions and exclusions of the policy.

Associate membership includes third party personal liability insurance cover 365 days for equestrian activities, except for timed carriage driving competitions.

Equestrian activities that are not covered under any membership categories are horse racing, steeplechasing, point to point racing and team chasing. Please read the policy wording available on the BC Insurance Centre via Howden for full details.

All incidents that occur at a British Carriagedriving or Affiliated Club event should be reported, no matter how minor.
