Ashfields on 14-16 August.
British Carriagedriving are delighted to announce that entries for Ashfields National Driving Trials in August are sufficient and this event will go ahead. Entries for this event have now closed.
This event will have selection classes for Single Horse and Horse Fours World Championships taking place later this year.
The organisers will be contacting competitors by email in the next few days to explain the special measures which have been put in place to comply with Government guidelines for social distancing to keep everyone safe.
Please assist the organisers as they apply the necessary social distancing protocols and avoid paper entries, cheques or cash. There will not be an event office as you have previously known it, so your assistance in ensuring the on-line system is used for all payments is greatly appreciated.
Sorry, NO spectators at Ashfields !
In line with Government advice and other sporting events, Ashfields event must be run behind closed doors. Competitors are requested to bring the minimum possible number of helpers. Obviously this is disappointing to many of you who would have liked to spectate, but the event must follow the present rules. Everyone has to register on arrival so that an accurate list of attendees can be kept in case it is necessary to track and trace all attendees. The organisers are doing a brilliant job in running the event so please respect this and do not turn up on the day.
The new on-line entry system is working well. A few teething difficulties have been ironed out and most members are finding it easy to use. Its introduction was well timed and Covid-19 has speeded up the move away from paper entry forms. Payment can be made by BACS or by card using the Members Login entry and payment system. More details in EVENTS. If anyone experiences a problem, or wishes to enter and does not have access to an on-line device, please contact the BC office and not the event organiser.
Ashfields on 18-20 September
Entries are now open for Ashfields National in September and the schedule is published on the website.
This event is replacing the 2020 National Championships. It will be a selection event for Single Horse, Horse Pairs and Horse Fours World Championships. In addition, it will be a qualifying event for the 2021 National Championships.
Start fees for both Ashfields events should be paid directly to British Carriagedriving. The cost is not included in the entry fee. This can be done while making your entry as a separate payment using the separate event titled "Ashfields Start Fee".
Osberton on 9-11 October
It is with much regret that British Carriagedriving announces the cancellation of Osberton driving trials this year.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, the ridden part of the event is being moved to Thoresby, where there are no plans to hold the driven event.
BC Council are considering the implications for the pony drivers, for whom this was to be their first selection event for the 2021 World Championships and will update those involved as soon as possible.
On-line Quiz and Zoom Meetings
Are you still trying to win a £50 Riding and Harness Stuff voucher? If so there are still two more chances.
The next virtual event with a Quiz and Zoom meeting takes place “at Onley” on Saturday 1 August, to coincide with the weekend that would have been the Young Drivers Championships.
The final virtual event “at Bywell” will be on Saturday 29th August.
Both will start at 6pm with the Quiz, followed by the Zoom chat afterwards. Links will be sent to members next week.
We look forward to seeing you at some of the 2020 events, in person or on-line.
