Onley Grounds to host Regional competition at the next Midlands Carriagedriving event

by Kingswood Associates
Midlands Carriagedriving is delighted that it’s competition at Onley Grounds Equestrian Centre, being held from 5th to 6th August, has been upgraded to a Regional event; competitors entering Regional classes will have the opportunity to qualify for the British Carriagedriving National Championships.

There will also be National Novice Qualifier classes as well as the usual club classes.

Also new this year is the northern-based Halspan Points League and Championships for which Onley is one of the qualifying rounds, the others being Hopetoun, Allerton Park, Raehills, Lowther and Bywell.

The aim is to offer club competitors a chance to gain league points without having to travel the length and breadth of the country.

Onley Grounds is a superb venue for driving trials, with its level fields for lorry parking, beautifully tended grass arenas for dressage, level ground for the cones and a lovely marathon course which includes a water obstacle.

Competitors can also take advantage of the permanent facilities such as the café, showers and toilets along with some retail therapy in the tack shop and the Farm Shop and Butchery.

With the loss of Catton Park, Midlands Carriagedriving’s Club Championships will now be held during a second visit to Onley Grounds the first weekend in September.

Spectators are always welcome, as are volunteer stewards, to all of Midlands’ competitions.

Further information and non-members’ entry forms can be found on www.midlandscarriagedriving.co.uk
