Midlands Carriagedriving welcomes Thoresby Park back on its competition calendar
Midlands Carriagedriving is delighted that Thoresby Park is back on its competition calendar, after an absence of ten years.

The venue, easily accessed from the A1 and about a mile from the A614, is located south of Worksop and is home to one of Britain’s Grade 1 stately houses; set in beautiful countryside close to Sherwood Forest the park will host the club’s second competition of the season from 9 to 10 June.

Organiser Stephen Trebble says: “The event will be at a new location within the Thoresby Estate, largely based in the old Sunday Market field with Section A of the marathon running through the North Woods adjacent to the National Trust's Clumber Park.

“The old Market Field has a number of gravelled hard standing areas which will help with the parking of lorries should it still be wet in June.

“Dressage, cones and Section B of the marathon will be close to the lorry park area at the bottom of the Market Field. Section B will be a circular route with six obstacles located off the track.

Both Section A and Section B should be around 6km, 12km in total, plus the Transfer section.”

There will be an optional evening meal at cost on Saturday evening and the club’s regular snack van will be available during the daytime.

Spectators are always welcome, as are volunteer stewards, to all of Midlands’ competitions. Further information and non-members’ entry forms can be found on www.midlandscarriagedriving.co.uk
