Following four selection events in 2016 and 2017, the team representing Great Britain at the FEI World Singles Championships has been announced as:  
David Matthews
A farrier from Berkshire David was part of the Gold Medal team in Rome 2006 and has been a member of 3 World Championship teams and qualified previously for four pairs teams, Slovenia being his fifth.

David drives his KWPN bay Geldings Tilanus aged 17, Waterloo aged 13 and Zorro aged 14.

Elizabeth Priest

Based on the Isle of Man, Libby is a qualified Equine Dental Technician.

She represented Team GBR in Topolicanky, Slovakia in 2013.

Libby drives her bay KWPN geldings Accord (Ace) 12, Fiktor 7 and her parents owned Eenzaam Ann De Top (Ollie) 8yrs.

Dad, Graham Priest, is her backstepper and the team is supported by Emerald Green Feeds and IOM Steam Packet Co.

James Broome
James is the General Manager of the David Broome Equestrian Centre at Cricklands, South Wales.

James competed in two World Championships, previously with a Pony Pair, including Lipica.

He is currently the British National Advanced Horse Pairs Champion. His most significant win to date: Saumur CAI** in 2016, which put him 10th= in the FEI World Rankings.

James drives his Dutch Warmblood Geldings Zwen D aged 13, Bonaire aged 11 and Douglas aged 8yrs.

Joanna Attenborough
Joining the team as an individual driver will be Joanna Attenborough.

Based in Zomergem, Belgium, Jo is a Director of a UK company.

Jo won Individual Silver at Saumur in 2013 and has represented GBR in World Pairs at both Kecskemét, Hungary in 2009 and Topolcianky, Slovakia in 2013.

Jo drives Cosmo her 15yrs old Holstein Gelding, who has been her main horse in all three phases since 2010, Domingo VD Stuyver 14yr Bay Warmblood gelding who competed in World Pairs 2013 and World Singles 2016 and Charly 1251 a 15yr Grey German sports Gelding.

Support team
Team Chef D’Equipe, Paul Sidwell, is an experienced competitor having been on the British team for the World Singles, Åstorp, Sweden in 2014 and World Single Horse Champions, Rome, Italy in 2006.

Paul is delighted to have been asked for the first time to be the Chef D’Equipe of the Horse Pairs class and has been working behind the scenes to establish a good team going forward to the World Championships.

Paul Sidwell

Team trainer Wilf Bowman-Ripley, based at the Ashfields Carriage & Polo Club in Essex Wilf was born into the great Bowman family, where he started his driving career backstepping for his uncle George Bowman before taking up the reins.

He competed on the gold medal winning team at Riesenbeck in 1997 and was this year invited to drive at the prestigious Aachen Show in Germany, as well as finishing in the top ten at Valkenswaard in the Netherlands and Royal International Windsor.

Wilf Bowman-Ripley

Team vet Tony Colin was born in Hammersmith. He qualified from Liverpool University in 1979, working for 3 years in a large mixed practice before moving to a small practice in Dorset.

In 1991 he set up his own practice, during the development of Hall Place Veterinary Centre, where currently four equine vets are employed.

When Tony eventually retires he has vowed to sit on the box seat and see life from the other side!
