OBITUARY

Barbara Stothert

Barbara Stothert has sadly passed away at the age of 85.

Barbara competed in the first Lowther Driving Trials in her vintage Liverpool Gig (taking a flask of tea with her on the marathon as she thought she could be on the course for some time !) She was founder member of the North West Driving Club with Jack Stamper in1967. Barbara's sister Jennifer Harrison was a past National Champion in the single Horse class and her brother Sir Sanderson Temple was past Master of the Vale of Lune Hunt and president of the Mule Society.

Barbara was also very much involved with "showing" driving her mare Mullaghmore which she also hunted with the Vale of Lune. Barbara was Area Commissioner for the B.D.S until 1986. She was very much respected as a knowledgeable judge by both the B.H.D.T.A and the B.D.S.

A lady who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
