Team GBR for World Equestrian Games 2006

The BHDTA is very pleased to announce the team that will represent Great Britain at the World Equestrian Games in Aachen later this month.

Karen Bassett the world?s leading lady four in hand driver will head the team with her black Trakhener horses. Professional trainer, Karen has been four times British champion and was a member of Great Britain?s bronze medal team in the 1996 World Championships.

George Bowman is the Britain's most prolific and experienced FEI four in hand driver. He has been national champion 19 times and in his remarkable competitive driving career has won individual silver and bronze medals in World and European Championships and will be a stalwart of the British Team again, Aachen will be George?s 16th World Championship.

Dick Lane is the third member of the team with his Lipizzaners. Dick who represented GB at the last WEG in Spain and at the World Four in hand Championships in Hungary in 2004 brings a high level of enthusiasm and International driving experience to the team.

Pippa Bassett also a member of the bronze winning team in 1996 is the non travelling reserve.

Bob Johnston is chef d'Equipe for the the team and has enjoyed many years is his position at previous world championships. His wife Yvonne will assist him in Aachen.
