Boyd Exell's accident - progress report
1 August 2006

Boyd Exell, four times British National Champion, team trainer for many British drivers and Australian international competitor has suffered an unfortunate accident recently.

Boyd is in Leicester Hospital, where he is recovering from five breaks in his leg, sustained while towing a vehicle. He was taken by ambulance from his home where the accident occurred.

The swelling was too extensive for immediate surgery. Later, after the breaks were pinned, it was discovered that a chip of bone had severed an artery. This was repaired but the extensive cut will take several more surgery efforts as well as plastic surgery.

He is expected to be in hospital for another two weeks . It will be a while before he is off crutches. His friends are rallying and his father has flown out from Australia.
