Obituary - Jennifer Harrison
1 June 2005

Jennifer Harrison (nee Temple) passed away peacefully in late May after a long but patiently borne battle with cancer. Jennifer will be remembered by many in the horse world for many diverse reasons but to Driving Trials she will be long remembered for the success she had with George Denny's Hackney horse, which included winning at the National Championships.

Jennifer's driving was just one of her equine passions. In her youth she won the Hack championship at the Royal Show and she show jumped at the Horse of the Year Show, travelling her horse to London on the train. She was a good friend to Lorna Clarke and found her many of her top class event horses, including Popudum who won at Badminton and Burghley. She also bred many a Clydesdale x which went on to be international showjumpers.

With her depth of knowledge and keen eye for a horse and pony, it is not surprising that she travelled the length and breadth of the country and abroad, judging for the BSPS. In October 2004 she was judging at the HOYS. This was to be her last show.

She will be sadly missed by so many but most of all by her many friends in Cumbria.
