?Simply the best?
Wednesday 13th October 2004

The sport of competitive carriage driving starts at club level, moving through to National events and in many cases International events with both horses and ponies. The sport appeals to a wide age range from the juniors up to those of eighty plus, all competing at the same level.

Over the last thirty years the sport has developed greatly and now caters and makes it accessible to everyone and all budgets. With more than fifty affiliated clubs throughout the country driving is happening near you ? try it - you will enjoy it!

Moving onto the arena display, some of the countries top drivers will present a display showing the power, action and excitement of competitive driving during the three phases of a competition.

Brockham Harness Club one of the oldest and most competitive clubs in the country boasts many current and past National Champions and among those taking part in the display will be: Georgina Frith, 3 times European Pony Team Champion and 7 times National champion, GB Team drivers ? Pippa Bassett and Dick Lane, Jo Rennison the world?s leading lady pony pairs driver and current national champion and Sarah Garnett 2003 Horse pairs champion.

The evening will start with an introduction to competitive driving , including training tips and advice. It will then feature driven dressage , we will then move onto cones and obstacle driving showing the various turn outs as they tackle the different phases of a competition. There will also be a chance for the audience to fire questions at the experts. At our stand the visitors will be able to get information about the sport, events, clubs & membership details.
