North Eastern Driving Trials Ltd.
Driven LeTrec
Sunday 23 May 2004
at Escrick, York

Le Trec is a new fun driving activity based on the ridden format. It is in the form of orienteering in the morning followed in the afternoon by tests of skill of drivers and animals.

Orienteering phase.
Competitors will be given a map and have to locate checkpoints. The route will not be marked but competitors will be given a speed for each section between checkpoints.

After this stage there will be a control of paces section - a marked track with walk in one direction (as fast as possible) and trot back (as slow as possible). Not as easy as it sounds!

Afternoon phase.
The 'handy pony' with tests to be negotiated. Any test missed does not mean elimination, just no points for that element.

Everyone competes on a level basis, so ideal for novice or experienced whip or animal. It is a one-day event and permission is being sought to have overnight parking on the Saturday night.
