Michael Freund wins World Cup at Bordeaux

The first World Cup Driving round of 2002, which took place at Bordeaux on 9th January was won by multiple German Champion and international competition winner Michael Freund with a time of 182.05 seconds and 5 penalties. Second was Daniel W?gler of Switzerland. Coming in third was Dutchman Harry De Ruyter, who was under pressure after being eliminated in the previous day's warm-up round because of missing a gate in an obstacle.

The win at Bordeaux takes Michael Freund into second place in the points table, with a total of 20 points from two wins. Although in the lead at the moment with 27 points, the US driver Chester Weber has already driven all four of his rounds and Freund still has two to go - Dortmund and G?eborg. The third place, with 17 points is shared by Harry De Ruyter and Ludwig Weinmayr of Germany. to see the latest points standings in the World Cup series.
