Driving World Cup win for Chardon at Dortmund

In the Driving World Cup series, the March 2002 round took place during the Internationales Reittturnier competition at the Westfalenhallen, Dortmund, Germany. The warm-up competition was held on Friday, 15 March and was won by Michael Freund of Germany in a time of 111.25 seconds with Dutch driver IJsbrand Chardon close behind with 116.68 seconds. The outcome of the warm-up round determined the starting order of the main competition, which took place on Saturday 16 March.

The winner, with a convincing lead was IJsbrand Chardon from the Netherlands in a time of 106.85 seconds. Michael Freund only managed to finish in second place with a time of 121.45 seconds, just ahead of Swede Thomas Eriksson, who was only 1.6 seconds behind with a time of 123.08.
